If a poem could be considered "bad" (let's say, in a theoretical world -- since, in a politically correct world, it is not possible), then the potential for a poem's "badness" would be directly related to its overall length.

That is, for every word the poet adds to the poem in the writing of it, the risk of failure, or potential for disappointment, rises exponentially.
